Dorift is an offline-first task manager. No investors, no analytics, no tracking. Your tasks live on your device and sync through servers in the EU.

Why it exists

Most task managers assume a connection and then apologise when there isn't one. Dorift writes to a local SQLite database first and syncs when it can. Airplane mode is not a degraded mode.

The second assumption worth dropping is that a to-do list needs an analytics pipeline. Dorift has none — no event collection of any kind — so there is nothing to sell, leak, or hand over.

It is deliberately not trying to be everything. No boards, no dashboards to maintain, no team seats.

Offline is the default

Your tasks live in a local SQLite replica, not a cache. Edits queue in airplane mode and replay on reconnect.

What this means in practice

Six decisions, each checkable.

No analytics

No Google Analytics, no Segment, no Amplitude, no Meta pixel, no in-house event pipeline. The transparency page lists every third party, and the list is short.

Local reads and writes

Every read and write hits a database on your device. Sync is a background concern, not a prerequisite for using the app.

Android and web

An Android APK and a browser PWA. Not iOS, not desktop — listing those would be a claim, not a product.

No dark patterns

No countdown timers, no manufactured scarcity, no invented usage numbers. The free tier is a tier, not a trial.

EU infrastructure

The database is a Supabase project in eu-central-1, Frankfurt. Chosen deliberately, and named on the transparency page rather than buried.

No investors

Nobody is owed a return on Dorift, so nothing has to be extracted from the people using it.

The four decisions that shaped it

Each one is visible in the product.

Offline had to mean offline

Storage

Most apps that advertise offline support mean a read cache: you can look, but writing fails. Dorift keeps a full local replica, so creating and editing work with no connection at all.

Sync without a queue you can lose

Sync

Edits made offline land in a durable queue and replay in order when the connection returns. PowerSync handles the replication; the queue survives force-quits and reboots.

Servers in the EU, named out loud

Hosting

The database is a Supabase project in Frankfurt. Rather than say "EU-hosted" and stop there, the transparency page names every provider, region, and the data each one sees.

Claims with receipts attached

Accountability

Every privacy claim on this site is meant to be checkable against the transparency page or the code. Where something cannot be verified, the honest move is to stop claiming it.

Who runs Dorift

Dorift is operated by Dr. József Juhász, Private Entrepreneur — an independent developer in Hungary, and the data controller under the GDPR. There is no team and no outside funding.

The registered address and the governing jurisdiction are set out in the Terms of Service. Privacy questions go to hello@dorift.com.
